COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS

EVENTS AND AGE GROUPS

Events are (men and women)

  • Springboard 1 m
  • Springboard 3 m
  • Platform 5 m, 7.5 m, 10 m
  • Synchronised 3 m Springboard
  • Synchronised 5 m, 7.5 m, 10 m Platform

(Synchronised Diving and Team Diving where the facilities allow.)

MINIMUM AGE LIMIT

25 years

AGE DETERMINING DATE

The actual age of the competitor as of December 31st (of the year of the competition).

Age groups are

25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

(and five years age groups as high as is necessary)

For Synchronised Diving

50-79, 80-109, 110+

(Age groups are determined by adding the ages of the competitors)

For Team Diving

75-104, 105-149, 150+

(Age groups are determined by adding the ages of the competitors.)

TRAINING AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION

SCHEDULE

The program has been made for 5 days.

SAFETY

Divers must indicate they are able to execute the dive. Officials may remove divers from an event where the divers´ safety is a concern.

PRACTICE PROVISION

Organisers provide two practicing days prior to the first competition day.

May 25th         12:00-19:00

May 26th         06:30-19:00

On the competition days open practicing will be between 6:30-20:00 depends on the competition times.

 TECHNICAL MEETING

Technical meeting will be on May 26th, at 10:00 Duna Arena Conference Room (1st floor)

COMPETITION DATES

May 27-31 The events will start on each competition day at 9 o’clock. Between each event will be 20 minutes practicing time.

1 hour prior to the next event those divers who will participate can use the platform or the boards.

The competition schedule will be provided on the internet prior to the championships once registration closes. This will also be provided to competitors at the venue.

COMPETITION FORMAT

The divers can freely choose their dives from the table in FINA Diving Rules, providing each dive to be performed has a different dive number.

For age groups 50+, any dive from 10m must be with feet first entry and with a degree of difficulty of 2.0 maximum.

For age groups 70+, dives with the same dive number can be repeated if different positions are used.

All divers will perform a full series of dives in their age group and there will be no preliminary or final contests. The Organising Committee reserves the right to run events concurrently, depending on the number of entries.

In Synchronised Diving for men and women in all age groups the total number of dives required is 2 dives with an assigned degree of difficulty of 2.0 regardless of the formula value plus 2 dives with free degree of difficulty. When diving from the 10m platform all divers aged 50+ may only perform feet-first dives with a degree of difficulty not exceeding 2.0 according to the formula value. Two divers from different clubs within the same federation may compete as a team.

In the Team Diving Competition each team shall consist of three divers but must include both sexes. Divers from different clubs within the same federation may compete as a team. Each team shall perform six different dives and each diver two dives. The dives shall consist of 2 dives from 1m Springboard; 2 dives from 3m Springboard; and 2 dives from Platform.

When diving from the 10m platform all divers aged 50+ may only perform dives with a degree of difficulty not exceeding 2.0 and they must be performed feet-first.

VICTORY CEREMONY, AWARDS

Victory Ceremonies shall take place after first session of the day and after the end of the afternoon session of the competition. Medals shall be awarded to competitors placed first to third in each event and age group. Diplomas shall be awarded to competitors placed first to eighth in each event and age group.

IMPORTANT

No one may smoke in any of the pool complexes or in the surrounding area.

ATTENTION

  1. In the synchronized diving, the mixed synchronized diving and the team event 1 diver can compete in only 1 couple independent of the age group
  1. In the Team Event Competition the dive order will be the following:
  • and 2. round: dives from 1m
  • and 4. round: dives from 3m
  • and 6. round: dives from platform
  1. 1m and 3m individual events will run simultaneously on the two side of the boards. 1m events will be organised from the 4 diving boards on the opposite site of the platform. The two additional 1m boards on the platform site will be used for practice.

DIVE SHEETS

Dive sheets must fill in Online on the official website of the European Championships but we may accept dive sheets which fill in at the venue to use the local computers which provide the Organising Committee, not later than 24 hours prior to each event. In any case divers have to print and sing the original dive sheet.

The Technical Delegate may accept later confirmations and/or submissions of the list of the

dives up to three (3) hours prior to the event, subject to a fine; the amount of the fine shall be decided by the Bureau and circulated by the Organising Committee.

No changes on the list of the dives shall be accepted after the deadline of three (3) hours prior to the event.

REPORTING

All divers are responsible for being at the competition site for the start of their designated event.
